Fall Convocation set for Tuesday, Sept. 10

The procession of TCU faculty in full regalia is a traditional part of Fall Convocation.


TCU will officially open its 141st year with Fall Convocation at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 in Ed Landreth Auditorium. Classes will be dismissed from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. to allow faculty and students to attend.

The Chancellor’s Award for Distinguished Achievement as a Creative Teacher and Scholar and the Wassenich Award for Mentoring in the TCU Community will be presented during the event.

A procession in academic regalia will form in front of Ed Landreth Hall at 10:45 a.m.. All faculty and adjunct faculty are invited to participate. Also, any staff with advanced degrees employed on at least a three-quarter-time basis are invited to participate.

You may register by going to my.tcu.edu; click on “Main Menu,” “Event Registration” and “Register for Events,” no later than Friday, Sept. 6.

To rent regalia, contact Graduation Services at tommy@graduationservices.com or at 817-336-2035 no later than Friday, Aug. 30 to place your order. You will need to pick up and return your regalia to Graduation Services, 3610 W. Vickery Blvd., Fort Worth, 76107.

Immediately following Convocation, the annual campuswide Founders’ Celebration will be held on the lawn by The Clark Brothers statue. This will be a time for the entire campus community to come together in an informal setting and celebrate the history of TCU and our founders, Addison and Randolph Clark.
