New manager chosen for Bookstore
Published: 10/28/2013

Derek Holbert has been appointed the new manager of the TCU Bookstore. He previously managed the Indiana State University Bookstore for Barnes & Noble College.

He began his 14-year career with Barnes & Noble College as a part-time student bookseller while attending Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Upon graduation in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, he was accepted into the company’s Bestseller Program, which trains talented booksellers for careers in management. With Derek’s degree in Information Technology, he transferred to the Barnes & Noble home office to work for the help desk department before returning to Indiana to manage the DePauw University Bookstore and, later, the Indiana State University Bookstore.

“Derek was chosen to manage the TCU Bookstore because of his long and successful career in bookstore management,” said Mark Kerin, regional manager for Barnes & Noble College. “But what really makes him such a great choice is Derek’s deep commitment to working with students and faculty at every university campus he has been a part of. It is that caring commitment, along with his exceptional managerial skills, that will make him a true asset to the TCU campus.”
