A couple of six-foot-long horned frogs were spotted on campus last week, on the west side of Jarvis Hall.

Chancellor Victor Boschini’s office ordered the two Frog-shaped concrete benches on the recommendation of an alum who had spotted them at the Phoenix Zoo. Turns out, you can order one too through the Web site of the manufacturer,  Phoenix Precast Products.  Eric Shipp, sales and marketing manager for the company, said the “Horned Toad” bench is by far the most popular model – outselling the dolphin, turtle, rabbit and javelina.

“When TCU was here in the Fiesta Bowl, we had some Horned Frog fans who spotted them and placed orders,” Shipp said. He said the bench runs around $530 plus shipping. Because each bench weighs about 800 pounds, the cost to ship one to Fort Worth would run an additional $350.

At least you could take the bill sitting down.
