The eighth annual TCU Baseball First Pitch Banquet will be held Friday, Feb. 11 at the Omni Hotel in downtown Fort Worth. ESPN analyst Tim Kurkjian and Managing Partner and CEO of the Texas Rangers Chuck Greenberg will be the featured guests, along with the 2011 TCU Baseball team.

A silent auction and reception will begin at 6:15 p.m., with dinner to follow at 7 p.m. Cost for the event is $100 per seat or $1,000 for a table of 10. Dress is business attire. Proceeds will help support the TCU baseball team with scholarships, equipment and travel aide.

A veteran broadcaster, Kurkjian has been at ESPN since March 1998. He is a fixture on the set of Baseball Tonight as well as a senior writer for ESPN The Magazine. His baseball roots trace back to the Metroplex where he served as the beat writer covering the Texas Rangers for the Dallas Morning News from 1981-85. Greenberg assumed his role with the Texas Rangers during its run to the 2010 World Series. He has been involved in sports for nearly two decades in various capacities, including as an owner and operator of three minor league baseball franchises (Myrtle Beach Pelicans, State College Spikes and the Altoona Curve).

"This is our signature event of the year that provides support to our program and is always a great time for everyone in attendance," said head coach Jim Schlossnagle. "I am very grateful to have Tim Kurkjian and Chuck Greenberg as our guests. This is a great opportunity for all TCU fans and fans of baseball in the Metroplex to get a head start on the season and meet every member of the 2011 TCU Horned Frog baseball team."
