Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Orchestra performing in NYC this week

The TCU Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble & Percussion Orchestra will perform in New York City Feb. 23-24, including a concert in Carnegie Hall.

Nearly 100 TCU School of Music students and faculty will travel to New York City today to perform at legendary Carnegie Hall and nearby Merkin Concert Hall.

 

The groups will depart by air  for several days of rehearsals and sightseeing in Manhattan. (Their instruments were sent ahead by truck). The students will also attend a Broadway show and a performance by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Music faculty members making the trip include Bobby Francis, Brian West, Curt Wilson, Brian Youngblood and Jeremy Strickland.

Schedule for the NYC performances:
Wednesday, Feb. 23 – 8 p.m.
Percussion Ensemble performs in Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center

Thursday, Feb. 24 – 8 p.m.
Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble, along with guest artists American Brass Quintet, will perform at Stern Auditorium, Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall.
