Former Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chrétien

Former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien will be the second speaker at The Vicente Fox Forum of World Leaders at TCU.  He will speak from 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in the BLUU Ballroom.

Chrétien served as Canada’s Prime Minister from 1993-2003. He is credited with improving the Canadian economy, including deficit elimination and budget surplus during five consecutive years, as well as ratification of the Kyoto Protocol.

Fox was the Forum’s first speaker; other world leaders scheduled to speak at the Forum in 2012 include the former Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar; former President of Poland, Lech Walesa; and former President and Prime Minister of Israel, Shimon Peres.

A key focus of the Forum is facilitating connections between former world leaders and college and high school students to encourage leadership development among youth and provide them with a glimpse of presidential leadership. TCU students, as well as students from area high schools and other universities will be able to attend the afternoon Forums free of charge.

The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required and may be made via phone to Nancy Styles at ext. 7808 or e-mail at n.styles@tcu.edu.
