The Wellness Challenge for the month kicks off from 3 - 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 for anyone who wants to meet at the corner of S. University Drive and Bellaire Drive North (north side of College of Education Building). To help you get started on your exercise program, the TCU Wellness Committee is hosting the first ever, Walk A Hound – Lose A Pound Challenge.  Free TCU pedometers will be available as long as they last.

The Challenge – beginning Oct. 22, take your dog on a daily walk that lasts a minimum of 18 minutes.  The holidays are coming up and it is the time of year we want to maintain and not gain weight.  This commitment can help you keep that goal.

The Fun - The Oct. 22 event is a chance to come meet some of the greyhounds rescued by Greyhounds Unlimited of Tarrant County.  Take a greyhound for a “walk” along a short course to experience the joy of dog walking and exercise. If you don’t already own a dog consider adopting one of these beautiful animals. This group is currently looking for homes for 45+ dogs.  Visit their Web site at www.greyhoundsunlimited.org and see pictures of the animals ready for adoption.

TCU staff members who currently own greyhounds will also be available to talk with you about their experiences with these animals.
