Shakespeare expert will lecture here Tuesday

Theatre students and anyone devoted to the works of Shakespeare are invited to a master class guest lecture by Rodney Cottier, head of the Drama School division of London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, the UK’s oldest drama conservatory. The presentation on the First Folio of Shakespeare is set for 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 in the Buschman Theatre.

 

Cottier has 31 years’ experience as a stage director and teacher of stage combat, acting and text at LAMDA where he has directed 25 plays from Shakespeare’s canon. He has also taught Shakespeare’s First Folio at universities in 27 U.S. states. As a fight director, Cottier has worked at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the Royal Opera House, English and Welsh National Opera, the National Theatre Studio and many regional theaters.
