"Faculty & Friends" Chamber Music Series ends another season tonight


The School of Music invites you to Double Anniversary and a Trio, a special evening in the "Faculty and Friends" Chamber Music Series, tonight, Monday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. in PepsiCo Recital Hall. The event commemorates the 200th anniversary of the births of composers Fryderyk Chopin and Robert Schumann.

 

School of Music cellist Jesús Castro-Balbi, director of the series, will be joined by fellow TCU faculty Andrés Díaz (cello), Gloria Lin, John Owings and Janet Pummill (piano) and soprano Kathleen Terbeek.

 

The program includes Sonata for Cello and Piano, Op. 65 (1846) by Chopin, Liederkreis, Op. 24 (1840) and Fantasiestucke for Cello and Piano, Op. 73 (1849) by Robert Schumann and Suite for Two Cellos and Piano (1976) by Gian Carlo Menotti.
