Shawn Wagner wins the 2011 Chancellor’s Staff Award

Shawn Wagner, events coordinator at Brown-Lupton University Union, was named winner of this year’s Chancellor’s Staff Award at the Opening Luncheon Friday in Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Chancellor Victor J. Boschini Jr., made the presentation. The annual honor, originated in 2002, recognizes exemplary service to the University and the University community.

Shawn was hired to work in Fraternity & Sorority Life in August 2001 but was moved into event planning at the old Student Center two months later. At the time, her job entailed booking reservations for space and arranging the set-up and sound for the various meetings and events held there. With the opening of the BLUU, Shawn’s responsibilities expanded.

Her clients include students, alumni, faculty, staff  and the community at large who wish to schedule events in the Union and surrounding spaces. “I really enjoy the challenge of bringing different campus resources together and melding them into a client’s vision and a successful event,” says Shawn.

A photo portrait of Shawn will soon join the gallery display of Chancellor’s Staff Award winners outside the Wright Boardroom on the fourth floor of Sadler
