Chancellor Boschini describes "The TCU Promise" initiative

Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr. officially kicked-off  TCU’s 139th academic year at Convocation last week, sharing many significant strides over the past year that have put TCU ahead of the curve. He discussed how TCU has been recognized among the “Best in the West” by The Princeton Review, and one of “42 Great Colleges to Work For” by the Chronicle of Higher Education. He also discussed TCU’s ranking of 99 in U.S. News & World Report Best College Edition 2011 and in the top 20 of its Up & Coming National Universities list last year.

Boschini also discussed Vision in Action and outlined the vision and goals set for the University. He also shared that the Campaign Scholarship Initiative has raised $84.5 million of its $100 million goal.

Vision in Action has recently developed the TCU Promise, a reciprocal commitment to excellence through discovery and achievement that unites the TCU community. When all parts of the TCU Promise are fulfilled, the result is the unparalleled TCU Experience that truly changes the lives of students, faculty and staff.

The promise covers multiple aspects of the collegiate experience at TCU and addresses the roles each of us plays to ensure our community of learning is truly “connected.”  These include:

In the coming weeks and months we will be profiling a number of individuals within the campus community who give meaning to TCU’s "culture of connection" and who exemplify the TCU Promise outlined above. We're looking for those whose professionalism, generosity of spirit and devotion to the University mission touch the lives of students and colleagues alike.

Please help us find these special people in our midst who help make TCU the unique place it is. Send your suggestions, along with brief comments about the individual’s contributions, to s.record@tcu.edu.
