"New York Times" columnist will address Honors Convocation Thursday

Timothy Egan, online op-ed columnist for The New York Times, will be the featured speaker at next week’s Honors Convocation, 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19 in Ed Landreth Auditorium.

Egan is the author of six books including The Worst Hard Time about the Dust Bowl (winner of the National Book Award for nonfiction in 2006). He will be the onscreen narrator of Ken Burns’ PBS documentary on that subject, due to air in the fall.

Also on the program will be music by the TCU Brass Quintet, Honors student Erik Danielson and Honors faculty Gloria Lin (piano) and Jesús Castro-Balbi (cello).  The Lin/Castro-Balbi Duo will perform Revolutions, composed by Honors faculty Till Meyn, which they recently premiered at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Roach Honors College, AddRan College of Liberal Arts, College of Communication, College of Education, College of Fine Arts, College of Science & Engineering, Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences and M.J.
