Larry Lockwood named Stan Block Endowed Chair in Finance


Finance professor Larry Lockwood has been named the Stan Block Endowed Chair in Finance. Dr. Lockwood, who came to the Neeley School of Business in 1994, is the advisor for Neeley’s prestigious Educational Investment Fund.

 

A Chartered Financial Analyst, Larry teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in security analysis and portfolio management. He also teaches equity investments, debt investments, derivatives, quantitative analysis, corporate finance, alternative investments and portfolio management in CFA review programs since 1987 in the U.S. and several countries in Europe. He administers the CFA review program at TCU each spring semester.

 

“Having had the distinct privilege of working alongside Stan Block for nearly 20 years, I am truly honored to be named to the Stan Block Endowed Chair in Finance,” Lockwood said. “Professor Block was and continues to be a close friend and mentor. I share his passion for TCU students, and especially for those who participate in the highly esteemed and globally recognized Educational Investment Fund. I will do my best to see that his legacy of leadership and excellence continues.”

 

Larry holds a Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from Purdue University. He is an expert in investment and portfolio management and has published several dozen articles in esteemed academic journals, including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Portfolio Management, and Journal of Banking and Finance.

 

Larry was honored as the Neeley Alumni Professor of the year in 2007. He has received several teaching awards, including the Neeley Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2008, Dean’s Teaching Award in 2005 and Graduate Teaching Award in 2004. He has been awarded research grants and honors from the Luther King Capital Management Center for Financial Studies and the Tandy Center for Executive Leadership.
